Overview

The DV3 XT builds on the success of our previous DVRs and since the original DV3 has been updated with a new chipset and better software too. The following table helps list some of the main features.

Specification

Solid State
The 4K DVR has no moving parts which makes it more reliable than camcorders or hard drive recorders when subjected to shocks or vibrations. Excessive movement suffered by mechanical devices can lead to a recording being lost or could even cause damage to unit itself.

Recording
Our cameras connect to the DV3 XT via the av-in socket. With the power on simply select the 4K Video Record option and press record. There are a choice of 2 recording resolution:

High Resolution: HQ640X480. Recording time:1.5hours per 1GB

Web Resolution: HQ320X240. Recording time: 2.5 hours per 1GB

High Resolution is ideal for quality recordings that you want to play back on a large TV screen or burn later onto DVD. The Web Resolution setting is just that, ideal for use on your website or uploading the video to YouTube. You can can also choose the video format for the recording.

Video is recorded at a high frame rate of 30fps and can be saved into either the built in flash memory or onto one of our optional high speed memory cards. The DV3 XT has 4K PowerSave technology built in which means it can record for up to twice as long as a regular DVR. You can also record indefinitely by powering the DC input on the DVR (eg using our Car Cigar Adapter or direct Power Cable).

The built in colour monitor (2.5 x 1.5 inch) makes the 4Kam easy to set up as you can see what the camera sees. Being hardly bigger than a credit card (95 X 55 X 15mm) and extremely light (80g), the DV3 XT can easily be slipped into your pocket or bag.

Playback
Once you have recorded the footage there are a number of playback options.

• DVR. You can easily watch back the footage while still at the event on the recorder itself. Video selection, fast forward, rewind play and pause are just some of the functions built in.
• TV. The recorder can easily be connected up to a TV for playback using the av cable supplied.
• PC. The video can easily be uploaded to your computer via the USB cable. From there you can edit it, play it or even upload it to the internet!
